Additional Layouts for
DigitalPro
- Power editing layout: Docks the
Projects & Filing Cabinet along the left side, allowing the Light
Table to fill most of the window. The Preview window is floating.
- Tabbed Layout: This layout combines the
Projects & File Cabinet windows using tabs, and also tabs the
Histogram window with the Preview window. Since tabs can be a little
tricky, it is recommended for more advanced users. Also, note that when
the histogram is available DP2 will draw it for every image, so if you
use this layout your images will show a little more slowly. If you refer
to the histogram frequently though, this gives you a nice way to do that
without it taking up space.
Creating Your Own Print Templates:
There are three basic steps to creating your
own print template:
- Identify a print template that is most
similar to the one you wish to create and make a copy of it to work with
- Edit the copied template until it meets
your needs
- Save the template
Let's examine each in turn:
Step 1, Make a copy: All the
print templates are in the templates folder directly under the DigitalPro2
installation folder (most likely that means they are in \Program Files\Pro
Shooters\DigitalPro\templates). Find the one that is closest to the template
you wish to create and use Windows or DOS to make a copy. The only thing you
need to be sure is that your copy has the suffix ".prt" so that
DigitalPro2 will find it.
Step 2, Modify the template to meet
your needs:
Each template is composed of simple lines of
the format: Variable="Value"
You customize the template by providing new
Values for the Variables. Variables and their meanings are:
ImagesAcross Number
of images across each row
ImagesDown Number of
images in each column

Template name, displayed in the drop down box on the Print Dialog
Description --
Description of the template, for your use
SpaceHorizontal --

SpaceVertical --
Vertical spacing between images (in inches)
SideMargin --

TopMargin --

BottomMargin -- (set

PortraitMode --
"True" for portrait mode templates, "False" for
landscape mode
PrintPageTitle --

to
FontName --
Name of font to use for text
FontSize --
Size of font to use for image name & footer text
TitleFontSize --
Size of font to use for the Title of the page
PageTitle --
Text printed at the top of each page
PageFooter --
Text printed at the bottom of each page
For PageTitle and PageFooter
you can use placeholders that DP2 will replace when you print:
You can use placeholders:
- #USER#
- Replaced with your registered name
- #DATE#
- Replaced by the current date
- #TOTAL#
- Replaced by the total number of images
printed
- #PAGE#
- (Available in Preview 2) Replaced by the
current page number
- #PAGETOTAL#
- (Available in Preview 2) Replace by the
total number of pages being printed
Step 3, Change the Name &
Description in the template and then save it:
You'll want to make sure you change the Name
line in the template to something you will recognize. The value of the Name
variable is what you'll see in the Print dialog for your template. If you
accidentally forget to change it, your template will show up with the same
name as the product template you copied. Then save your print template, fire
up DP2 and give it a try!
